24 Launch Report
by
Jeff McCoy
This was the second day of the November 2-day launch.
Turn out was quite light, but there were still quite a few flights.
There was the second day of contest flying going off at the contest
range. Sport Flyers put up 30
flights with motors from A to I flown. There
were only four high power flights flown during the day.
Rob Chapie, Don Hansen, and Scott Goebel and believe it or not our own
Bruce Weidner flew high power. There
were 17 flights flown by the Boy Scouts who Camped out over night and had a
great time. The frequent flyer of
the day was Neil Babcock with 10 flights. Neil
was a first time flyer and really started out on the right foot, his dad Bill is
getting hooked on the hobby. Other
Sport Flyers included Emily Goebel and Alex Chapie.
High power flights featured Rob Chapie first up
flying a PML AMRAAM on an I 211. Second
out was Don Hansen flying a LOC EZI-65 on a I 195. Next out was Scott Goebel who traveled all the way from
Wisconsin, flew an upscale Estes Manta on a I 211. Bruce Weidner, Yes I said Bruce, flew a PML AMRAAM on a I
284. He noted several things on his
flight card, first was the name of “In Your Face” and second was the comment
of “Kiss My A**”. Yes Bruce,
you have shown us that you do know how to fly something besides Ugly Space Junk.
