Launch report

Talk about perfect days to fly rockets, this was it.  The winds were low and variable, temp was great and the sky was clear.  There were boys from both the Cub Scouts as well as the Boy Scouts.  There were 81 flights flown and engines ranging from 1/2 A thru F.  Matt Meglan from Troop 301 was the frequent flyer of the day, topping out with a 2-stage flight of the Estes Mongoose on a C-6 to a C-6-7 and he recovered all parts for a great flight.  As mentioned there were Scouts among us, 4-8 Cubs from Pack 456 and 10-14 Boy Scouts from Troop 301.  They flew a total of 53 flights.  Dave Welch, Mike Ludwig, John Buckley were some of our SLRA members flying on this beautiful day.  I believe that all rockets were recovered, including an ill-fated flight of Michael Ludwig AT Initiator that landed in the River on the northern bank.  Luckily, the rocket was fished out in tack in remarkable condition.  It goes to show you that, if you properly finish a rocket inside as well as outside it can take a 20-minute swim and come back to fly again.
